Juventus Football Club, Turin, Italy, recently named IMG as its licensing agency for territories in Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
The multiyear deal comes after Juventus was crowned Serie A champions for the fifth consecutive year last season. IMG will represent the team’s brand in Japan, China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, in addition to Australia and New Zealand. The club is looking to secure new partnerships in a number of sectors, including apparel, accessories, automotive products, stationery, toys and food and drink.
“Juventus is one of the biggest names in world football, with the club’s signature black and white stripes instantly recognizable to fans across the globe,” says Marcelo Cordeiro, licensing director at IMG. “We are delighted to be working with them on developing its licensing program in these regions and building on the success of its record-equalling season.”
“We are always looking at new ways of reaching our global fan base and this agreement with IMG will help us to do this in these territories,” says Luca Montesion, licensing executive at Juventus FC. “We will work closely with them on developing an extensive range of consumer friendly products that will resonate widely with our passionate and loyal supporters.”
