Columbia University recently signed an agreement with Exemplar Associates to have the firm manage its domestic trademark licensing program.
The agreement will become effective July 1.
“We look forward to beginning a new chapter in our licensing operations and are pleased to be the first university to align with Exemplar Associates,” says Honey Sue Fishman, executive director of business services, Columbia University.
Per the agreement, Exemplar Associates will work with the university to administer use of its trademarks on a wide range of consumer products. More than 150 licensees currently produce and distribute Columbia University-branded items. Exemplar Associates will use a comprehensive suite of services, including license agreement coordination, product and design approvals, code of workplace conduct compliance, royalty management and business planning, according to the firm.
