The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) recently signed an agreement with Under Armour, Baltimore, following the expiration of the school’s contract with Nike.
The seven-year contract will provide the school with $1.206 million per year in product allowances, according to the Birmingham Business Journal. UAB will also receive $50,000 cash along with postseason performance bonuses, including $25,000 for a Sweet 16 appearance in basketball or $5,000 for a bowl appearance in football.
UAB’s football team will return to the gridiron for the 2017 season after being disbanded in 2014. — M.Q.
