Michigan State University has selected the Collegiate Licensing Co. (CLC), Atlanta, as its exclusive licensing representative.

Previously, Michigan State was one of the nation’s largest remaining independent licensing programs, as it is considered a top program in football and basketball, and has more than 530,000 alumni in the United States.

The CLC’s brand-management strategy for Michigan State will focus on ensuring value through partnerships with best-in-class licensees, and using the CLC’s resources to reach consumers on a number of different platforms, according to the company.

“Michigan State is a successful brand that had many options for the future of its licensing program, and we are proud they recognized the national footprint, strategic approach to brand management and access to resources across a variety of industries that only we can offer,” says Cory Moss, SVP and managing director, CLC.

The CLC currently represents almost 200 collegiate institutions across the nation.
