The University of South Carolina and California State University, Northridge (CSUN) recently approved apparel contracts with Under Armour, Baltimore.
South Carolina’s agreement is for 10-years and $71.5 million, a significant boost from the old agreement — six years, $6.2 million — which expires at the end of June, according to The State.
“I’m very pleased with where we are with Under Armour and the relationship with (CEO) Kevin Plank and his staff,” says University of South Carolina athletics director Ray Tanner. “It’s more to me than just a company that we partner with. We have been with them quite a while and he and his staff feel like part of our family.”
The terms of CSUN’s deal with the apparel company were not made available, but Under Armour will provide the school with official athletics apparel, footwear, accessories, sports equipment and connected fitness equipment for the term of the relationship.
“We are excited to welcome CSUN Athletics to the Under Armour family and look forward to providing best-in-class training and game-day footwear, apparel and equipment to the Matador student-athletes and entire CSUN community,“ says Sean Sullivan, director, sports marketing, Under Armour.
