The National Hockey League (NHL), National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA) and adidas, Herzogenaurach, Germany, revealed the World Cup of Hockey 2016 uniforms, which will be worn during the tournament.

The World Cup of Hockey 2016, which will be held from Sept. 17-Oct. 1 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, will feature the international teams from Canada, Czech Republic, Finland, Russia, Sweden, the United States, Europe and North America.

Each team’s jersey design is inspired by elements of national pride from the participating teams, according to adidas.

“We took iconic emblems from each of the participating teams to create jerseys that honor the traditions of each nation and fused those with an emphasis on technical design for elite performance on the ice,” says Keith Leach, senior director NHL, the adidas Group. “adidas is committed to designing and developing high-performance products that make athletes better and we look forward to outfitting the World Cup of Hockey in our newest and most innovative uniforms.”

The uniforms are made with adidas’ adizero technology and blend lightweight, resilient fabrics that have been tested during the past four years.
