The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), Atlanta, has announced a 10-year extension of its partnership with the University of Alabama.
“It means so much to everyone at CLC that The University of Alabama continues to entrust us with one of the preeminent sports brands,” says Cory Moss, SVP and managing director, CLC. “We are very excited to develop creative new programs and initiatives that will continue to grow the University’s licensing program.”
Alabama was the company’s first client since the CLC was founded in 1981, and is currently its top-selling institution in units sold, royalty revenue and sales. Alabama’s royalties have increased 250% since 2005 and its licensing revenue has increased in 13 of the past 15 years.
“We are pleased with our relationship with CLC that has been in place for many years,” says Bill Battle, director of athletics for the University of Alabama. “The CLC team has been passionate about helping us develop, promote and protect the Alabama brand. We are happy to be able to continue benefitting from the comprehensive suite of services and future plans for growth that are uniquely available through CLC.”
CLC represents nearly 200 United States collegiate institutions and has signed more than 25 new school deals already in 2015.
