The Collegiate Licensing Co. (CLC), the licensing affiliate of IMG College, announced it has extended its agreement with Rice University Athletics to continue managing its trademark-licensing program.
Rice and CLC signed a five-year agreement that will run through 2021. The partnership will give Rice continued access to CLC’s brand-protection, management and development services through a comprehensive, customized trademark-licensing program.
“For more than two decades we have worked side-by-side with Rice to grow its prestigious brand, and we are honored that the University has elected to extend our partnership,” says Cory Moss, senior vice president and managing director, CLC. “Our CLC team is committed to delivering new opportunities and solutions for Rice to use in telling its brand story to consumers across the country.”
The Rice licensing program has grown 81 percent during the partnership, according to the company, with CLC increasing retail distribution and product selection of Rice merchandise by securing a presence for the Owls in retailers such as Finish Line and Costco.
