The Collegiate Licensing Co. (CLC), Atlanta, announced an eight-year extension of its partnership with Auburn University to continue managing the school’s trademark licensing program.
Since the inception of the partnership, Auburn’s licensing program has grossed more than $52 million in royalties.
“As a longtime partner of the University, CLC understands the Auburn family and the goals we have for our brand, but more importantly, they can deliver the resources, relationships and expertise to get us there,” says Jennifer Blackmon, director of trademark licensing for Auburn University. “We routinely call on the CLC team and their array of services to help us protect and grow the Auburn brand.”
More than 6,645 retailers sell Auburn’s officially licensed product across the country; royalties for the University have increased 65% since the fiscal year of 2010-11.
Auburn ranked ninth among CLC partner institutions in wholesale revenues in 2014-15, while licensing program revenue is up 22% from the previous fiscal year.
