NFL, Nike Releases Color Rush Uniform Concepts

Sep 14, 2016

"363x277Nike-Football-NFL-Color-Rush-2016_JLandry_hd_1600"The National Football League (NFL) and Nike, Beaverton, Ore., have unveiled Color Rush uniforms, a head-to-toe monochromatic look, for all 32 league teams.

The uniforms will be worn by participating teams exclusively during Thursday night games this season, with a few exceptions. The only teams without a scheduled Color Rush game are the Indianapolis Colts and Washington Redskins.  The uniforms will not be worn during Thanksgiving games.

There also are a few select matchup conflicts that prohibit both teams from using their concepts, as the colors are too closely aligned. These games include the Sept. 22 meeting between the Houston Texans and New England Patriots, where the Texans will wear their traditional white road uniforms.

The jerseys and tees for each team are available at NFLShop.com, Nike.com and select club retailers. All proceeds from the sale of Color Rush jerseys will go to the NFL Foundation to fund health, safety and wellness programs for youth across the country. The first $500,000 raised from the sales will be used to replace football equipment and fields lost in last month’s floods in Louisiana. — M.Q.
