Major League Baseball (MLB) has reached the apex of its 2016 season as the Cleveland Indians and Chicago Cubs play in the World Series, with each team sporting uniforms created by the Workers United union, Easton, Pa.
More than 400 employees at Majestic Athletic are members of Workers United PA Joint Board. Each MLB player wears a union label to work, according to Lynne Fox, who heads Workers United.
“Major League Baseball is a national sport with a dedicated fan base. Yet, very few fans know that our Workers United members make the uniforms worn by their sports heroes,” Fox says. “Our members make sure that every player participating in professional baseball wears a union label.” — M.Q.
