Manchester United recently announced partnerships with two companies that will give the soccer club a presence in two different markets.
The club signed a multiyear sponsorship with Chi Limited to become its official soft drinks partner in Nigeria. The deal will allow Nigeria’s market leader in fruit juices to use the Manchester United crest and club imagery on a range of products throughout Nigeria. With brands like Chivita 100%, Chivita Active, Chi Exotic, Chi Happy Hour and Chi Ice Tea occupying leading positions in their respective segments, Chi Limited is known as Nigeria’s premier producer of healthy, high-quality fruit and dairy-based beverages.
Manchester United also signed a multiyear partnership with IVC, a global nutritional supplement supplier, to be the club’s first official Chinese wellness partner and offer an exclusive line of wellness products tailored for Chinese consumers.
As part of the partnership, IVC’s MATE brand series will launch products that also carry the Manchester United crest. These include SPORTMATE, a nutritional supplement that improves muscle repair and supports metabolism, and DAILYMATE, which has a comprehensive formula that supports immune health and boosts energy levels.
“As a professional sports club, we understand the importance of living a healthy lifestyle — something we encourage not just amongst our players, but also amongst all our 800 staff, local community and fans across the world,” says Richard Arnold, Manchester United’s group managing director. “Through our partnership with IVC, we hope to spread this message of well being to the 108 million faithful followers we have in China.”
