Hat World Inc., Indianapolis, introduced its headwear-only retail concept in 1995, and 20 years later, LIDS — as the company now is known — has evolved into a destination for sports fan and street fashion enthusiasts.
The retailer’s 20th Anniversary celebration includes special events and product launches, including this week’s launch of the “20th Anniversary Platinum Collection” headwear series: Flawless. The collection will feature a selection of limited-edition (1,995 units) fashion hats inspired by popular designs from the past 20 years.
“We’ve enjoyed quite a ride over the last two decades,” says Ken Kocher, president of LIDS Sports Group. “LIDS is prepped for the next 20 years and beyond; at the ready with the apparel, headwear and novelty items that fans want — ‘any team, any time, any where.’”
LIDS also will launch Championship Series headwear lines that recreate the Locker Room hats for each NBA, MLB, NHL and NFL championship dating back to 1995.
