EA Sports, MLS Renew Video Game Agreement

"363x277MLS_avatar-400x400"Major League Soccer (MLS) and EA Sports have agreed to a renewal for five years of their men’s soccer video game partnership, according to SportsProMedia.com.

The original deal only covered licensing rights, but EA Sports has grown into data-insight markets as its reach has grown. The company will continue to work alongside MLS on collecting and analyzing in-game data.

EA Sports will retain the rights to use player, team and league likenesses in its FIFA series. The company also will continue to collect and analyze in-game data and advertise at all MLS fixtures.

The Premier League and La Liga also have such deals with EA Sports. — M.Q.
